The George Lawton Hall is a prominent building in the landscape of top Mossley. The building serves as the local Community Centre and hosts a wide range of events for all ages, from tea dances to roller skating discos. There are two rooms suitable for hire. The large, main function suite, which takes up most of the interior and has its own stage can accomodate concert seating for five hundred people, cabaret for four hundred and three hundred and fifty for dining purposes. The dining suite is much smaller and more suited to family celebrations or conferences.
It also houses the local Information Office where the people of Mossley can request Council Services and pay bills such as Council tax etc.
The George Lawton Hall plays host to many performances, including local pantomimes and it is the base of the Mossley Amateur, Operatic and Drama Society.
