Ryecroft Hall is a beautiful building dating back to 1849 when it was built to house Mr Buckley and his family who were wealthy mill owners. The house then
became the property of Mr. Buckley's cousin, before being sold in 1913, to Austin Hopkins, an M.P for Mossley.
Today Ryecroft Hall is an attractive function venue, and serves as Audenshaw's local community centre. The gardens have been turned into a mini park with a bowling green
set amid splendid flower beds, and at the rear of the building, a play area catering for children between the ages of three and fourteen.
