The Tame Valley

The river Tame begins above Oldham in the Pennines and passes through theportland basin pasture and woodland known as the Tame Valley. Portland Basin is one of the prominant features to be found within the valley, where the old canal warehouse is situated, which together with the river, played an important part in the industrial revolution.
